Underwater
Previous week Renee did visit my studio for a shoot in a bath. Portraits, arty things and some kind of fashion was the idea. The setting was a little bit hard to get perfect in the meaning of flash positioning and reflection in the water but with my biggest softbox – the Elinchrom Octa 190 – above the bath and two smaller softboxes it worked out pretty well.

Upside-down
Take a picture of this. A pink corset, pink balloons and a model hanging upside-down. In words this isn’t so hard to figure out. But how to manage this in your studio. I’m a lucky guy to have a big sized studio with pallet racks. One of this racks could be used to hang upside down, together with a ladder. It wasn’t very comfortable, but it worked. For thirty seconds between every session of taking photo’s. After this time it was way to uncomfortable to keep hanging upside down for the model. But Mary-Elle is a real model and could deal with this situation very well.

For the result take a look in the gallery editorial portraits.

Lost in translation
Fragile you are
and yet the strongest by far
who’s to save us
now that you’ve turned weak ?
we’ve all been traumatized
we were all a part of the revolution
we call the truth a lie
too much got lost in translation
